RPA – Robotic Process Automation

RPA is the technology that allows computer software to mimic actions typically performed by humans interacting with digital systems to execute business processes. Robotic process automation (RPA), also known as software robotics, uses intelligent automation technologies to perform repetitive office tasks of human workers. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) can use software with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning capabilities to handle high-volume, repetitive tasks that previously required humans to perform. Some of these tasks include addressing queries, making calculations, maintenance of records, and performing transactions.

The working of RPA consists of 4 Phases:

1-Planning phase

2-Development phase

3-Deployment and Testing phase

4-Support and maintenance phase

RPA Attended / Unattended.

Attended (Assisted)

  • Used 20% of the time

  • In front Office / Call Centers / Desktop based

  • Spending a lot of time with the customer /

  • Needs your decision

  • E.g.: Ask for Customer Id and pull data from different portals

Unattended (Non-Assisted)

  • Used 80% of the time

  • Back-office operations / server-based automation

  • No human-based interaction required

  • E.g.: Collecting data from different sources and send them to the stakeholders
